New server, plan, etc

The new server:

Alright, I know it was just a few months ago that I was inactive because my desktop was down, but last week the root partition of my server crashed hard and I've been recovering it as well. I bought the harddrive in 1998, so no big surprise. I should be all set on the computer front for quite a while now.

I've got two 250GB drives raid1ed in here now, and the restored offsite backup looks good, but it turns out I didn't have everything there, so I don't have the /etc/apache2 config files, some of the cgi-bin scripts (including comments), and the organization of my photography pictures from the old drives.

So the core stuff is back up, but I'm going to redo the way the photos are organized as long as I've lost the old structure, and various other things may not work for a while.

The new plans:

Post an entry everytime I do anything at all to the site, and do more by putting a lot more incomplete work and designs online, to start getting my notebook into an accessible and archived form.

Recreate the comment poster.

Rework the rss feed to have correct timestamps, and for linebreaks to show up in more readers.

Instead of moving photographs around, keep them in their automatically assigned date directories and work out some kind of tag system to categorize them.

Finish designing the new color scheme for null-terminated.
