I went to see the Lakers demolish the Knicks tonight (instead of watching the SOTU). The Knicks took an early lead by not missing shots for the first few minutes, but then it was literally all Lakers (check out the miniscule runs the Knicks have after the first quarter).

The best part was that everybody left with about six minutes left, so Charles and I moved down to right behind the first aisle (Allan Houston left the area as we arrived, and we were behind where Natalie Portman and Jay-Z sat courtside). From there we watched as Andrew Bynum dominated garbage time while playing the whole fourth quarter, first against Eddy Curry and other Knicks starters, then their second unit when it became clear things were just embarassing. He is a MONSTER, I love the guy. Here's his line:

Min: 12
FGM-A: 7-7
FTM-A: 2-4
Reb: 4 (2 offensive)
Ast: 1
PFs: 3
STs: 1
TOs: 1
BLKs: 0
PTS: 16
That's right, no blocks, but in 12 minutes he became the second highest scorer in the GAME after Kobe Bean Bryant. And I was about ten yards from the Lakers' basket when it happened (p.s. Bynum is a BIG guy).

Chris Mihm is still the second-most consistent scorer, but Lamar and Smush looked pretty good (hard not to against the Knicks), and Sasha was spot-on and didn't miss a shot. Kwame Brown even went three for five with no turnovers.

All good stuff, now for the rest of the road trip. And I gotta get me some floor seats for a complete game sometime and bring my camera in.

(Also, I know I haven't mentioned ochenta y uno, I'm working on it.)
