How to win at Madden 2007

While in LA for Christmas, I got to play my cousin Jack's copy of Madden 2007. As the oldest cousin, it's my duty to win all video games, but I struggled at first.

Then I found precision passing.

By pressing the D-pad as you throw the ball, you can overthrow, underthrow, etc. For whatever reason though, if you press up on the D-pad to overthrow, the receiver seems to catch the ball about 90% of the time (maybe because they're faster and taller than the safeties).

It got to the point where I would just audible for my fastest receiver to switch to a streak route (triangle, receiever's button, up d-pad), then overthrow to him for the nearly-automatic touchdown. I was also automatic on passing for two-point conversions, and I should mention I was able to do this all with Michael Vick- I don't think he throws for 300+ yards all that often.

If anybody's interested, I also have an unhittable Jimmy Connor's Tennis serve that takes almost no skill to pull off.
